Description
There's a giant in the sky . . . and who knows what is lurking in the woods! When a Baker and his wife learn they've been cursed with childlessness by the Witch next door, they embark on a quest for the objects required to break the spell. Into the woods they go, swindling, lying to, and stealing from Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel, and Jack (the one who climbed the beanstalk). Everyone's wish is granted, but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them later, with disastrous results. What begins as a lively fractured fairytale becomes a moving lesson about the stories we tell our children. Winner of multiple awards for its 1987 Broadway and 2014 film versions, Into the Woods is eerily perfect for the Halloween season ? or anytime you're brave enough for a walk in the dark.
