Children's Christmas Party

Description

This is an annual event sponsored by Kiwanis Club of Cottage Grove. Children are taken to Bi Mart by Kiwanis members to do their shopping from a list supplied by their parents.  After the shopping they take their gifts to a venue to have a full breakfast and then on to wrapping the gifts.  When gifts have been wrapped they will participate in various games and balloon sculptures and face painting.  Santa arrives with his elves on a vintage fire truck supplied by Brad's Chevrolet.  The children's pre-selected gifts have been  purchased and  wrapped by Key Club members from Cottage Grove High School.  With the child's name on them Santa calls each child up by name and gives him or her their gift.  Each child also receives a stocking stuffed with sweets, fruit and small gifts and a dozen cookies made by the Key Club members. Then all the children are returned to their homes by the Kiwanis members.  Funds from this event are from fundraisers that the Kiwanians do all year long.
