Description
Join the Coast Fork Birders for the annual Bald Eagle Count led by Alison Center! All levels of bird enthusiasts are welcome to join. Meet at the Koffee Kup restaurant by 9am to check-in for the Dorena Reservoir count. Arrive earlier if you would like to have breakfast beforehand. Participants will depart the Koffee Kup shortly after 9am so as to be birding in the field by 9:30am. The Cottage Grove Reservoir count will take place in the afternoon. Meet at 2pm at the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Lakeside Park on London Rd. to check-in. Bring birding gear, weather-appropriate clothing and your own snacks and water. Please leave dogs at home. Eagle sightings are not guaranteed. More information can be found at coastfork.org or on the CFWWC Facebook page.
This count will contribute citizen science data on immature and adult bald eagles (and other birds that winter in the area) around Dorena Reservoir and Cottage Grove Reservoir to the Oregon Eagle Foundation's statewide midwinter eagle count. This will be the 27th annual count led by Alison Center.
