The Village Green Resort in Cottage Grove is offering the ideal romantic getaway for sweethearts this Valentine?s Day. From dinner to a movie to an overnight stay, the resort has a number of special events for a memorable evening. In the dining room, the restaurant is offering a Valentine?s Day menu in addition to the regular menu options. The event-themed menu includes salmon chowder; crab stuffed mushrooms topped with a lemon garlic aioli; a choice of slow roasted prime rib served with rosemary au jus, grilled tri tip topped with a chimichurri sauce or seared Mahi Mahi topped with a tropical fruit salsa; and chocolate cherry cheesecake for dessert. Following dinner, or for a carefree date night, catch a showing of ?Crazy, Stupid, Love.? starring Steve Carell, Ryan Gosling, Julianne Moore and Emma Stone in the Map Room Theater. The movie runs at 8pm on Friday and at 5pm and 8pm on Saturday and is rated PG-13. Cost is $3 for adults, $1 for kids ages three to 11, and free for kids two and younger. A limited food menu, popcorn and candy will be available for purchase, along with beer and wine. Ideally, make a night of it with a special Valentine?s Day overnight package, available on both Feb. 13 and 14.
