f you have spent any time in Cottage Grove, you probably heard of the slippery Reverend, David Olson, who showed up in town with some outlandish equipment and even more fantastic promises and "sold" the town that there was a lake of oil under Mt. David. He sold stock and talked down the nay-sayers convincing nearly everyone that they would soon be rich, rich, rich. Steve Williamson will be presenting some entertaining research into Olsen's motives and shedding a new light on his scheme, which BTW never produced a drop of oil.
